How are we going to do it?
We are introducing as many blind children and young adults to the sport of judo so they can build confidence, independent and strength in their lives.
You may already know this but one of the biggest fears of blind children is the fear of falling. This can be terrifying to many. How can one overcome this? Good question. They can learn how to fall.
I know it sound strange but it makes sense. Judo is all about balance, strength and falling correctly. We are on a mission to cause change in the following areas:
- Help blind and visually impaired children and young adults achieve independence now.
- Increase confidence in blind and visually impaired children and young adults today so they can have every choice and opportunity as every other child or young adult.
- Participate, enjoy and be empowered so they experience that they can be more than they may have ever thought. It really is about achieving and dreaming and becoming what they want.
- People don't like to say it but a lot of times blind children are asked to sit on the sidelines. No more sitting on the sidelines. We want our young people to jump into life with both feet.
- Providing financial support and funding for any blind or visually impaired child or young adult that wants to experience the world through judo.
Educate legislators and other policymakers about the scientific knowledge, developments and opportunities to the Blind & Visually Impaired for public policy, societal benefits and productive citizenry.
Together, you are helping and changing the lives of blind and visually impaired kids.
Making a difference in the lives of blind and visually impaired,
